Conservation and good stewardship are central to Tejon Ranch and we consider them to be our core values. We’ve intentionally been taking good care of our land for more than 150 years now and that commitment to conservation is unwavering.
In 2008, working with five of the nation’s largest and most respected environmental resource organizations, the Sierra Club, Natural Resources Defense Council, Audubon California, the Planning and Conservation League and Endangered Habitats League, we reached an agreement to permanently conserve up to 240,000 acres of our land – that’s 90% of Tejon Ranch. The Tejon Ranch Conservation and Land Use Agreement is the largest private conservation effort in California history (www.tejonpreserve.com). To make sure the future conservation of Tejon Ranch is ensured, the agreement also established an independent non-profit organization – the Tejon Ranch Conservancy – which will actively manage and enhance the conserved lands.
When you purchase an item from the Tejon Ranch Clothing Collection, you’ll be playing a part in the conservation of this beautiful Ranch. A percentage of the proceeds from your purchase will be dedicated to provide funding for the Tejon Ranch Conservancy.
